Facebook Announces Updates to Targeting Minors, Instagram Shop Ads, & More!
Facebook recently announced a number of updates to their advertising policies, aimed at making the platform more family-friendly and accessible for all. Among these changes, they will no longer allow ads to target minors, will roll out Instagram Shop Ads, and will release new tools that allow advertisers to better target their audience.
No More Targeting Minors
To ensure a safe and secure experience for all users, Facebook is prohibiting all ads from targeting minors. This change comes as a result of the FTC’s settlement with Facebook for failing to protect children’s privacy online.
Introducing Instagram Shop Ads
As part of their effort to help businesses reach more people and drive sales, Facebook has launched Instagram Shop Ads. These new ads will enable businesses to show products directly in stories, allowing customers to shop directly in the app and purchase without leaving it.
New Targeting Tools
Facebook also introduced new tools to allow advertisers to better target their audience. These tools include the addition of lifestyle, interests, and purchase behaviors to custom audiences, allowing companies to have more control over who sees their ads.
With these updates, Facebook is ensuring a safe and secure environment for all its users, while also providing businesses with more powerful tools to reach their target audience.
