This will bring you to the Reels home page, which will show you any Reels that your friends or other followers have recently posted. At the top of the screen, you should see a red button titled “Start Recording." Tap that button to begin.
Step 2: Record Your Clip
Once you’ve pressed the “Start Recording” button, you’ll be taken to the recording screen. Here, you’ll be able to record your clip up to 15 seconds by pressing and holding the circle in the middle.Once you’ve finished recording your clip, tap the arrow to preview it. If you’re happy with the results, hit the “Next” button to go to the next step.
Step 3: Add Music or Audio Effects
The next step is to add music or audio effects to your Reel. For this, you’ll need to tap the “Music” icon on the right-hand side of the screen. This will bring up a selection of music and audio effects that you can choose from. Simply tap the one you want to add, and it’ll be added to your Reel.

If you want to give your Reel an extra touch, you can also add filters and text to it by tapping the “Effects” icon at the top right of the screen. This will open up a library of effects that you can apply to your Reel, including things like color corrections, text, and more. When you’re done, hit “Done” in the upper right corner of the screen to save your changes.
Step 5: Share Your Reel
The final step is to share your Reel with your followers. Simply tap the “Share” button at the bottom of the screen, select where you want to share it (e.g. on your profile, in a DM, in a Story, etc.), and hit “Send.” Congratulations – you’ve just created and shared your first Instagram Reel!
